If the only difference is number of usefull charge cycles then 300 cycles is probably enough to get by for as much as the MacBook Pro gets used on battery(given the original has lasted 7ish years now) and probably okay for half the price, but if there's a significantly higher failure rate, or likelyhood of failure damaging the Mac then I'm okay spending a little more on the iFixit one, presuming it is closer to OEM quality. I don't mind spending more to get something that's going to be more reliable an not damage the Mac, but I've also seen some reviews that say the main difference is longevity(rated for 300 vs 1000 charge cycles). ![]() ![]() The ones on Amazon are close to half the price of the iFixit one, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with regards to the quality and safety of those batteries. The options I've found are from iFixit, Amazon or Newegg. I'm in Canada so that limits some of our options in that the cost of shipping and duties purchasing from a US based site can put the price close to just getting it done by an AASP, but looking to save a bit. ![]() Looking for advice/personal experience on a replacement battery for my wife's MacBook Pro.
